Easier to install. Faster enough to work. Thanks to Amazon for the good price and free shipping. Works great. Eliminated drilling and wiring from one floor to other. Like the product.
Good product and well taken care of by the supplier - we got a modem in one of the boxes but they sent us a new one as soon as i phoned them about the problem.
It works wonderfully and was very glad that I made this selection. I found to be a little disjointed but with careful choices was up and running in short time. instructions I would have given it five stars and I'm sure it would be an excellent pick for more modern versions of Windows as well. Installed this product in a computer that has been in use for 9 yrs. The instructions for this OS. But for my OS.
This computer is located 50' from the router (other end of the house) and it works like a charm. The install had a twist. The computer immediately recognized the adapter but needed drivers. They asked me to remove the software, turn off the computer, and uninstall the adapter. Install the adapter, turn on the system and then put the cd in for Windows to find your drivers. Then, re-install the adapter and turn the computer on. Once that was entered, it has worked great.
So, if you are running xp, do NOT load the software first like the instructions tell you. But, though I had a good signal, I also immediately received an error message. Enjoy. If you are worried about it, install the adapter and call Linksys first. Called Linksys immediately. Signal strength is excellent for my home application. There are two sets of instructions: one for vista and one for xp.
Got thru in seconds. I was instructed to put the software cd in the computer. You'll be working in no time. Just received new wireless-g pci adapter. I have xp so followed them carefully (not difficult at all). When I did that the computer automatically found the drivers, loaded them and asked for my WEP info.
It did req. to get a good signal. My son had no trouble instaling this. him moving the router around a little in the other room.
